How To Stay Motivated In Your Business

How To Stay Motivated In Your Business

How to stay motivated in your business is a battle that all entrepreneurs face from time to time. Do you find it hard for you to stay motivated sometimes? I know that you probably read motivational books and listen to inspirational speakers every day (at least you should be!). There is more to motivation than just being inspired from outside influences. In fact, true motivation comes from within- I will cover this in the video below. In this White Board training, I will explain several topics that a lot of people in Network Marketing or Home Business struggle with, such as: how you can have endless motivation, how to determine who to work with in your business, and why some people that you talk to will NEVER join your business!

Yes, it is true, some people will not join your business or see the vision no matter how hard you try to “sell” them on your opportunity. Furthermore, If you do get a new person in your business, there are some early signs that you can see if you know what to look for to determine if you should spend your time working with them. I wish that I had this training when I got started in Network Marketing 15 years ago!! If you struggle in any of these categories, this video will rock you!

If you keep working on your big aspiration circle, you will never have to wonder how to stay motivated, and continue to strive to build your business bigger and bigger.

6 Ways to Develop Persistence for Your Success

6 Ways to Develop Persistence for Your Success

The most interesting thing about a postage stamp is the persistence with which it sticks to its job. – Napoleon Hill

Developing and maintaining persistence is a critical skill to success. It is easier to relax and do nothing, or just live in our comfort zone, rather than face the uncertainty and discomfort of pursuing and working tirelessly towards our goals. For many people, particularly entrepreneurs, the idea of failure and struggle is a tough pill to swallow!

However, if you want to create change in your life and achieve success, it is essential to develop and master persistence. Here are 6 ways to help you develop persistence:

  1.  Identify Your Needs, Wants and Desires

If you don’t know where you are going, you will probably end up somewhere else.  – Lawrence J. Peter

Before you can develop persistence and eventually achieve success, you need to first identify your needs, wants or desires (Goals). You can do this by simply writing down the specific things that you want to have or accomplish. List all of your needs, wants, and desires regardless of how hard or impossible they seem to achieve at the present moment. These goals will act as a compass to help direct you and your actions to where you want to be. Writing down your needs, wants, and desires will also allow you to look back and reflect on what you really want. This will provide the motivation and encouragement needed, at times, when you have failure and setbacks; because it will happen.

  1.   Figure Out What Your Motivation Is

Motivation comes from within, and it is the deep reason or cause of why we want to achieve or have something. If you know why you’re doing what you’re doing, it gives you more energy and conviction to keep pushing forward towards the attainment of your goals (needs, wants, and desires).

For an instance, if you want to build a successful and profitable Home Business, it takes time, energy, sacrifice, and patience. If you don’t have enough motivation, a reason why you need to build a business, you most likely will never take the actions necessary to build the business. However, if you’re motivated by the thought of having time and money freedom, as well as influencing and teaching millions of entrepreneurs, only then will you keep pushing yourself to work on building your business.

  1.  Outline Your Action Steps (Game plan)

Identifying your needs, wants, and desires paints the picture of what you want to achieve. Determining what your motivation is shows the reasons why you want to achieve your needs, wants, an desires. Once you know your “what” and “why”, outlining your action steps is necessary to know how you will be able to achieve your goals.

When you know how to get what you want, it makes it easier to achieve, and makes it more realistic in your mind. Knowing the “how” is only part of the equation, however. You will then need to pinpoint and plan what action steps need to be done on your part to reach your goals. It is important to be very specific on each action step that you need to take. For example, “Share your business opportunity to 5 prospects per week.” This would be a very specific action step that you can do in order to grow your business. How many action steps can you think of to help quicken the growth of your business? Select them, and then get to work on them!

  1.  Keep a Positive Mental Attitude

The road to success is not easy. In fact, it is down right challenging! This is why so few people succeed; they give up too early because they don’t believe that they can succeed. Many times it is because of the lack of a Positive Mental Attitude. There will be many times that you will stare into the eyes of defeat and failure. If you do not have a Positive Mental Attitude (PMA), you will succumb to negative thoughts, fear, and doubts of not only yourself, but of others as well. I talk about the importance of having a Positive Mental Attitude in several other posts throughout my blog.

In order to develop persistence and eventually succeed in your endeavor, it is critical to always maintain a positive mental attitude regardless of your situation. Keep your thoughts maintained on taking consistent action towards your goals. Avoid negative thoughts and feelings at all cost, because it will ruin your focus and persistence needed to achieve your goals

  1.  Build A Mastermind Group

A Mastermind Group consists of people who can help you succeed and achieve your goal. Many times they are people that share similar goals and dreams or they can even be your mentors. Be sure to choose this group of people carefully. If possible, include only those who can give you unbiased judgments and who also has a Positive Mental Attitude. You can’t afford to waste your time and energy listening to cynical advice and pessimistic people. These types of people will not help you succeed. Instead, they will drain your energy and confidence which will eventually lead to your failure.

  1.  Develop Discipline and Good Habits

All of your goal-setting and planning will go to waste if you don’t develop discipline and good habits.

There will be plenty of road blocks and challenges that will come your way to distract you from moving toward and achieving your goals. Without the proper discipline and habits in place to keep you focused, it will be easy for you to simply give up, or get so far off track that it will be hard for you to get back on the road to your success. Maintaining discipline and good habits can help you stay the course, even when difficulties arise!

Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment. – Jim Rohn

Persistence is a key success principle you must partake in to achieve your goals and dreams. Commit to use and learn these 6 ways to help you develop persistence and you will become unstoppable! I believe in you :)

What other ways can you add to this list that will help to develop persistence?

Goal Setting

How to Effectively Set and Achieve Your Personal Goals

Pick up any success book, read posts from success blogs like this one, or talk to anyone that has become successful in anything, and a common theme that you will read and hear is that you need to set goals! You should set short term, medium, and long term goals to help you achieve the success that you want. There are essential pieces of the goal-setting puzzle that many people miss. I will explain what these pieces of the puzzle are and they can help you to set and achieve your personal goals. In addition, I will explain how a critical question or self observation can direct you on whether or not your goal is a solid one.

The goals that you set for yourself to achieve any level of success should comprise of at least three types: A short term, medium, and long term goal. Short term goals are the daily goals that you set for yourself. These are the goals that you should be thinking of when you first wake up in the morning and as your head hits the pillow at night. These goals are the daily habits that you do in your life on a consistent, everyday basis. Each day that you go out into the world, you should be expecting to achieve that one daily goal.

Medium sized goals are those goals that you have where you can track them on a weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis. They are the goals that you will accomplish by continuing to meet your short term or daily goals. The daily goals will lead to your weekly, monthly or quarterly goal.

Finally, long term goals are those goals that you can evaluate yearly. Again, the short term and medium goals consistently attained will lead to your overall long term goal for your life. For example, perhaps you are looking to retire early; within the next 1-2 years. You have a business vehicle that will allow you to accomplish that with the right amount of work and effort. Your daily goals may be to network with people on a daily basis and ask or show them how they can be a part of your business team. Maybe it is selling some products on a daily basis. By being consistent and networking or selling a product everyday, you will then be able to meet your medium goal which may be to have a certain amount of people in your business network or a particular monthly sales goal. If you are consistently hitting your medium goals, then over a period of a year or two, you will achieve your long term goal of retiring early! Do you see how this all falls into place? That is why goal setting is crucial to your success. Setting goals helps to steer all of your thoughts and activities into productivity. It is like having GPS for your life. You can follow your daily, weekly/monthly, and yearly goals to direct you where you want to be.

One of the pieces of the puzzle that most people miss are setting proper goals. When I say proper goals, I am not saying that one goal is better than the other, you have to decide that for yourself. What I am saying is that the goals that you set for yourself (short, medium, long) should be attainable with some good effort. There is nothing that will throw you off track quicker in goal setting than to set goals that are just too unrealistic. From the previous example, if you have never networked or sold a product for your business, but you set your goal to meet 10 people per day, you will probably become very frustrated a couple of days into the pursuit of your goal. If you don’t hit your daily goal for 3-4 days, you end up not even trying anymore because it just is not realistic for you to meet that many people right away. So make sure that your goals are far enough out that you need to put in some good, honest work to hit them, but that they are attainable. If you find that the goals that you set are too easy or too hard, you can always go back and adjust them. Just set the goals!!

The second piece of the puzzle is a question or observation that you should make about yourself, and that is: Are your goals forcing you to change? A goal is effective only if it forces you to change. Goals should cause you to stretch and get out of your comfort zones. It will be difficult for you to hit goals without some kind of change on your end. Let the goals help you to become more than you thought that you could be and change for the better! Setting goals and changing can both be scary. However, both are necessary for you to move forward in your life and achieve your personal goals.

Set your goals now! Develop short, medium and long term goals for your life and begin to consistently work toward achieving each of them. You may not hit your goals the first time you set them, but that is okay. For me personally, there are many goals in which I did not accomplish on my first attempt. However, I simply re-set them again and worked hard and consistently until I achieved them. In fact, there are still some goals that I am working on as I write this, but isn’t that what makes life exciting?

Let me know what you did to set and work towards achieving your goals…

Extraordinary Life

6 Steps To Live an Extraordinary Life

Are you looking to live an extraordinary life? Most people want to live a life of significance and happiness in a world that celebrates average and mediocrity. Today, we live in a culture where people will criticize you for having a dream and a desire to get more out of life. Living a life of significance and happiness will make lazy, non-motivated people jealous because you want or are doing something that matters instead of doing nothing and blending in with everyone else. Are you ready to take the next step in your life and start living an extraordinary one?

Here are 6 Steps to live the extraordinary life that you want:

1. Vision: Everything starts with vision! You must see beyond where you currently are in order to live the extraordinary life that you want. It is important to know where you want to go so that you can begin to work and apply daily habits to help you move towards that goal. Those that do not have vision of where they want to go will never get there! It is like being on a rudderless ship, you will be tossed around by the waves, never really going anywhere. Take the time and develop a vision for your life.

2. Have a plan: A plan is essential for you to be able to achieve your vision. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. If are struggling to develop a plan, see if you can find someone to help you or mentor you. There are tons of resources out there, think outside the box!

3. Risk: To live an extraordinary life, risk is always involved. People may try to steal your dreams, even if they are well meaning. You have to take a leap of faith at times and just follow your heart in order to accomplish your vision and goals. Don’t let others talk you out of becoming extraordinary!

4. Discipline/Schedule: Develop daily habits that will enable you to move forward towards your vision and goals and stick with them. This is not always easy because sometimes you may not feel like doing what you know that you should do. However, it is just as easy to do what you don’t want to do as it is to not take action at all. Be consistent with your daily actions and work your plan.

5. Passion: If you are going to live an extraordinary life, you need to have some passion about you. Your goals and vision should be a dominating thought. Tune out all of the white noise around you like the news, etc. If it will not help you get closer to your goals, do you really need it? Remember this: Garbage in – garbage out. What you put in your mind will come out, so be careful what you watch and listen to!

6. Have a definite purpose: Empower and raise other people up. Do something that will outlive you and enrich the lives of others. Live with no regrets and give it all you have!

You were created for greatness and you have what it takes to make an impact in the world! Living an extraordinary life is more than just trading hours for dollars and living your life inside of a bubble. Step outside of your bubble and make the world a better place to live with your vision; your extraordinary life.

Are you ready to start living out your extraordinary life? Do you want to make an impact and make a difference in your life and the lives of others? If so, click here and join the movement!

6th grade sales

If a 6th Grader can do it, you can too!!

I normally don’t watch the news because it is so negative. But the other day I happened to flip to a morning news segment that was interviewing a 6th grader who broke the record for the amount of Girl Scout cookie boxes sold. She sold 21,000 boxes of cookies! The fact that she sold that many cookies is impressive, but what really caught my attention was HOW she did it. In a matter of 5 minutes, she gave everyone that had ears to hear and eyes to see how to be successful in anything and hit your goal- and she is only in 6th grade!

Here is what she said that she did to set the record…

1. She set a goal and wrote it down- If you don’t know where you are going, you won’t know how to get there. Without goals there is no direction, and there is no focus. When you write your goals down, you can then focus all of the proper activities to hit them. Goal setting is like navigating a road map, you can see the route and stops along the way. The first key to any success is to have clear, succinct, written down goals.

2. She worked hard- This young girl said that she would sell for 10, 11, or sometimes even 12 hours a day on the weekends and for 7 hours a day after she got out of school. You see, we all have 24 hours in a day and she used most of them and used them wisely. This is something that all of us can take note of and be better with our time like she did. Talk about dedication, while most kids her age were playing outside or in front of video games, this young lady was out chasing her goal. It does take sacrifices to hit your goals, this includes time, hard work, and effort. You must decide if you are willing to do what it takes to hit your goals and then make it happen!

3. She spoke to everyone that she saw- This was my favorite part of the whole story. Whenever she came in contact with someone, she asked them for the sale without hesitation. She didn’t sit back and worry about what they would say or whether or not they would buy. She just knew that if she asked everyone, then someone would buy. The way she put it was that she just did not take “No” personally. I love this!! How many of us have been held back from succeeding or hitting our goals because we were worried about what others would say and took “No” as personal attack on us?

This young girl’s story should serve as an example that we are unstoppable when we have our goals clearly defined and written down, are willing to work hard and sacrifice short term, and learn to not take a “No” personally. These are fundamental success principles that this 6th grader used to accomplish her goals. If a 6th grader can do it, you can too!!

If you would like more information on how to overcome the fear of rejection, I wrote a post that should help you out! Also, if you would like to learn more about principles of success, access my 10 Day Blueprint video series now– It’s FREE!

See you on the other side…

Stand out from the crowd

5 secrets to stand out and rise above the crowd!

If you are a young professional in Corporate America, or you are an aspiring Entrepreneur who is looking to make connections and build or join a business team, standing out form the crowd is important. What sets you apart from everyone else and how can you show it? Why would someone want you to join their company or business? Obviously there are a lot of factors that play into if a job or business is the right fit, such as personality, overall business/career goals, and mission of the company or business. Since I have had the privilege of mentoring many young, ambitious individuals on our business team for several years, I have outlined some qualities or traits that I look for in someone that will help you to raise your head above the crowd.

1. Take initiative: Ask questions, seek answers and mentorship. As much of a tech savy world we live in, you must be willing to go out and find the information. My mother always says that you don’t need to know everything, you just need to know where to find it! Be resourseful and you will stand out.

2. Have a PMA: A Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) is looking at things with a glass-half-full mentality. Let’s face it, things don’t always go our way, but it is how we respond that really determines whether or not we have a positive or negative attitude. I had a day not long ago that could have really sent me over the edge of negativity. In the morning I got a flat tire on the highway during rush hour traffic. After pulling over and taking out my spare tire, I realized that I did not have a jack in my trunk! 1 hour later the Road Ranger came and changed my tire. Later on that same day, I got ticketed for not wearing a seat belt as I pulled out of a parking lot. I had reached down to get something and was going to put it back on but it was too late! Ticket! That day I refused to let myself have a pity party; it was still going to be a great day and I made it so! It was all about my attitude. Do you have a PMA even when things don’t go well?

3. Have Goals: Know where you want to go and what you are willing to do to get there. Have you ever spoken to someone who had no goals? What a dull and boring conversation it is! Nobody wants to work with or hire a person who does not have any idea of what they want or where they want to go in life. Goals give you life! Goals give you the reason to get up and get out in the morning. You have to be willing to pay the price to achieve your goals. Success in anything does not come easy nor over night. Be willing to fight for your goals and dreams and do what it takes to achieve them- legally of course!

4. Be open to taking risks and keep an open mind: Don’t be so critical about everything that you miss opportunities and chances to excel. I have seen many individuals that I have shared my business with be so analytical and overly critical that they don’t even see the opportunity for what it is…an opportunity! No one will want to work with you if all you do is find the negative in everything and are not willing to take a risk or have an open mind. After all, part of success is taking a chance or risk in the first place. If you are not willing to change, then you will not be able to grow professionally or in business in order to achieve your goals.

5. Be a Go-Getter: Have a can-do attitude about everything, even if you don’t now how to do something or don’t have the experience. A prospective employer or business partner will want to know that you are willing to learn and/or overcome obstacles along the way. Don’t give excuses on why you can’t do something, figure it out, and if you can’t, ask for help. This is part of having a PMA.

These are some of the major qualities that will help you to stand out from the rest of your peers. As always, there are exceptions, but if you adopt these traits and thought processes, you will attract great people that will help you advance in your business or career.

I invite you to join our winning team and learn how you can make money!! Click here to request more information and let us know how you stand out from the crowd!

Book of excuses

Stumbling Blocks To Success- Are You Guilty Of These?

During my years in business I have both spoken with and networked with many people. Due to the type of business model that I build in network marketing, I interact with people of all ages, education, and positions in Corporate America. Nonetheless, when asked simple questions such as if they are pursuing their dreams or whether or not they look to make money outside and away from what they currently do (school, work, etc), many are looking or want to pursue their dreams. The common response I get from the ones who are not looking or pursuing their dreams are normally one of three reasons: “I am too old/too young,” I don’t have any money,” or “I don’t have any time.” It gets real scary when someone uses all three of these excuses as to why they can’t pursue their dreams or make any money!!

Let’s break down these stumbling blocks to success or excuses, yes I said it- excuses, and find out why so many individuals blindly use these statements without even really stopping to think about what they are saying and if it even makes sense. All they are really doing is regurgitating what they have heard other say to justify where they are in life- plain and simple!

I am too young/too old: In my opinion, this is a crippling excuse. The reason I say that is because you can not choose your age. You start out young and grow older over time. Age is not like attitude where you can choose to have a good one or a bad one. We must all contend with the fact that we will become older whether we want to or not. That being said, it is never too early or too late to chase your dreams. One of the worst regrets that anyone could have is “If I had only tried or done ____.” Don’t let that be you- go out and start chasing your goals and dreams NOW. If you are young and in school, the time to start is NOW!! If you are older and have grown kids and settled into a career for the past 15 years, etc. the time to start is NOW!!

I don’t have any money: I love this one…especially when I ask them if they are open to looking at a way to make extra money. You see, insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. This sounds like a lot of people’s New Year’s Resolution, “This year I will make more money or _____!” What usually happens? They don’t do anything and keep doing what they have always done. Therefore, they keep getting what they have always gotten and end up in the same place year after year. The key is, do not overlook an opportunity to make money because of the fear that you will have to invest some money to start. Now I understand that you may not be able to start a business or make an investment of $200,000 if you do not have a lot of money. But what I am saying, however, is don’t overlook an opportunity to make money just because you don’t have the money now. What if you could get started in a profitable business vehicle for under $200? Do you think you could come up with that amount to make more money? People do exactly what they want to do! The same people that claim that they have no money are the same ones carrying a $400 smart phone around! As the saying goes, “You can’t steal second base with your foot on first!” Go ahead and make it happen to change your financial future and go after your dreams.

I don’t have any time: This has got to be one of the oldest excuses in the book! Listen, we ALL, every single one of us, have 24 hours in a day. Whether we are married with 8 kids, or single and in college, we all get the same amount of time. The key is how we use the time that we have. You will find that successful people are no better than anyone else, they just choose to use their time differently. Take for example, If I told you that I am inviting you for an all expenses paid trip to Europe for 2 weeks, do you think you would be able to find the time to go? The question is not do we have time, but it is am I willing to make the time for my goals and dreams. You must build your life around your goals and dreams rather than trying to build your goals and dreams around your life- they will never come to pass that way. Ask yourself, “How bad do I want it?” You can do anything you want to do, you just can’t do everything you want to do. Whatever you make a priority in your life, you will make the time for.

Do you make any of these excuses? If so, how will you overcome them and get working toward your goals and dreams? Please comment, I would love to hear!!

wealth

5 things wealthy people do that most others do not

In the world, 2% of the population makes an enormous amount of money. In addition to the 2%, there is also a large percentage of the population that is very wealthy and, in many cases, financially independent. In this article I will reveal some of the things that separate the 2%’s from the rest of the population and how they are able to enjoy the kind of lifestyle and success that most people only wish they could live. My wife and I have been blessed to learn these principles from some of our own mentors who have used them to develop great wealth and lifestyle and I am excited to pass them on to you.

Here are the 5 things…

1. They educate themselves: The 2%’s continue to learn and work on their craft. The education that I am referring to is not going to a college campus to learn from a professor that has never done what they are teaching, but instead reading success self-help books and learning from other successful individuals through association. They learn how to work with people and develop great people skills. Many successful people will point to the fact that they learned how to lead people from books, audios, and seminars. They understand that they must continue to grow and learn. After all, you are either growing or dying; but never stagnant. Continued education is a key for these people.

2. They take risks: They are willing to take chances even when others think that their ideas or dreams are crazy. They observe the masses and do the opposite. 2%’s understand that in order to achieve great things, they have to be willing to go against the grain and not simply follow everybody else because it is the safe and popular thing to do. They move from failure to failure in order to help realize their goals and dreams; never quitting. They know that with each failure they will learn something that they needed to in order to move on towards their ultimate destination of success. These individuals literally fail their way to success!

3. They have clear and defined goals: If you don’t have a goal written down, you are like a rudderless ship being tossed about by the waves of the ocean. These folks know where they want to go and have a clear and concise way to get there. Once they have their goals written down, they then come up with a game plan and execute it.

4. They take action: Probably one of the most telling things that the 2%’s do is take action. This is vital as nothing is ever accomplished without taking action. You can have the best people skills, read thousands of books, have goals written down, but if you don’t take action nothing will happen. These people do not wait for everything to be perfect before they take action because there is never a perfect time to do anything. They boldly step out on faith and begin the journey. That is when things start to happen.

5. They believe in themselves: 2%’s believe in themselves and have a great, positive attitude. They see themselves having already accomplished their goals and visions before they actually do! They know that the only thing that can stop them from achieving is themselves. These individuals understand that they are far from perfect and they focus instead on their strengths and skills rather than just on their weaknesses. Because they believe in themselves so much, it is only a matter of time before they succeed!

If you begin to utilize some of these principles, you too can join the 2%’s or live the life that you desire.

Feed Your Dream, Not Your Fears

The choice is yours; you can either feed your dream and take action or feed your fears and remain where you are. I see many people who want more out of life, whether it be to start a business, go back to school, or pursue a hobby that they have always wanted to do.
Fear is one of the main hindrances for people in our society today. They don’t know how to cope, and therefore overcome their fears. Some people have a fear of speaking to other people, some have a fear of the unknown; not willing to take a risk, and, as crazy as it sounds, some people have fear of success!

There are many ways to cope with fear that I have written about in other posts on my blog. For this particular entry, I am focusing on your dreams and desires rather than the fear that is preventing you from achieving your dreams. When you focus on your goals and dreams, you are able to flood positive thoughts to you mind. When you mind is focused on the positive, good results will follow. You will begin to take action towards your goals and dreams which is where everything starts. Ways to focus on your dream can include associating with others who have similar goals and dreams, taking pictures or hanging pictures of your goals, actually seeing your goals; test drive a car, take a tour of a multimillion dollar home, etc. The key here is to be so consumed with your goals and dreams that it becomes emotional and you can already see yourself as having what you desire. It really is as simple as that, you either acknowledge your fears or acknowledge your dreams. I pray that you choose the latter!

If you are looking for a vehicle that can help you to achieve your dreams, or just create some extra cash to help you on your way, watch this video of my wife and I and you can see how we have been able to pursue our dreams!

We will see you on the other side!

Increase Your Dreams; Increase Your Financial Future!

All of us have had dreams from early childhood up until now. As we got older the dreams may have changed, but we all have dreams that we would like to accomplish. The sad reality is that most people will shape their dreams around their income rather than using their dreams to increase their income.

What am I getting at? Let me explain. Let’s say someone makes $80k/yr. at their corporate job. Most likely they have tied their “dreams” or goals into what $80k/yr can buy them; car, home, travel, etc. They can not imagine driving a Ferrari or living in a multi-million dollar home because to them it is not “realistic.” They have no way of achieving those goals so the settle for what they can afford.

I am challenging you to develop a dream so big it intimidates you. When you have a big dream that is bigger than your current circumstances, it forces you to take action and make the kind of money to afford what you want. You will strive to make enough money to be able to afford that multi-million dollar home or retire your wife/husband from their job; even yourself! You were created to do more and be more, not just settle for what life or your boss says your value is. You can begin to shape your financial future by just increasing your dreams alone! When your subconscious mind is set on achieving a goal, it will begin to create and think of opportunities to help you achieve that goal. That is why one of my definitions of success is: When opportunity and preparedness meet. Your mind will have you prepared to see an opportunity and take advantage of it.

So begin to increase your dreams to increase your finances. Stop settling for what you currently have based on your circumstances. Rise up and be all you can be!
