Leave Your Baggage Behind

Leave Your Baggage Behind

“The past doesn’t equal your future!” I had heard that saying many times before I finally really came to understand what it meant. When I did break it down in my mind, I came to realize just how important and powerful the phrase is! It is a statement and truth that many people either don’t understand, or they choose not to believe it.

We all come from different backgrounds, were raised in different parts of the world, and have different cultures. The one thing that we do have in common is our very own story and baggage. When I coach other Network Marketers and business owners, I find that a large majority of them bring their “baggage” into business with them. This can severely hinder their success. I break down what the statement “The past doesn’t equal your future!” means in the video below.

Are you carrying baggage around? Have you allowed your past failures to dictate the expectations for your business and your future? NOW is the time to let the baggage go, draw a line in the sand, and begin to create your future and leave your baggage behind!

6 Ways to Develop Persistence for Your Success

6 Ways to Develop Persistence for Your Success

The most interesting thing about a postage stamp is the persistence with which it sticks to its job. – Napoleon Hill

Developing and maintaining persistence is a critical skill to success. It is easier to relax and do nothing, or just live in our comfort zone, rather than face the uncertainty and discomfort of pursuing and working tirelessly towards our goals. For many people, particularly entrepreneurs, the idea of failure and struggle is a tough pill to swallow!

However, if you want to create change in your life and achieve success, it is essential to develop and master persistence. Here are 6 ways to help you develop persistence:

  1.  Identify Your Needs, Wants and Desires

If you don’t know where you are going, you will probably end up somewhere else.  – Lawrence J. Peter

Before you can develop persistence and eventually achieve success, you need to first identify your needs, wants or desires (Goals). You can do this by simply writing down the specific things that you want to have or accomplish. List all of your needs, wants, and desires regardless of how hard or impossible they seem to achieve at the present moment. These goals will act as a compass to help direct you and your actions to where you want to be. Writing down your needs, wants, and desires will also allow you to look back and reflect on what you really want. This will provide the motivation and encouragement needed, at times, when you have failure and setbacks; because it will happen.

  1.   Figure Out What Your Motivation Is

Motivation comes from within, and it is the deep reason or cause of why we want to achieve or have something. If you know why you’re doing what you’re doing, it gives you more energy and conviction to keep pushing forward towards the attainment of your goals (needs, wants, and desires).

For an instance, if you want to build a successful and profitable Home Business, it takes time, energy, sacrifice, and patience. If you don’t have enough motivation, a reason why you need to build a business, you most likely will never take the actions necessary to build the business. However, if you’re motivated by the thought of having time and money freedom, as well as influencing and teaching millions of entrepreneurs, only then will you keep pushing yourself to work on building your business.

  1.  Outline Your Action Steps (Game plan)

Identifying your needs, wants, and desires paints the picture of what you want to achieve. Determining what your motivation is shows the reasons why you want to achieve your needs, wants, an desires. Once you know your “what” and “why”, outlining your action steps is necessary to know how you will be able to achieve your goals.

When you know how to get what you want, it makes it easier to achieve, and makes it more realistic in your mind. Knowing the “how” is only part of the equation, however. You will then need to pinpoint and plan what action steps need to be done on your part to reach your goals. It is important to be very specific on each action step that you need to take. For example, “Share your business opportunity to 5 prospects per week.” This would be a very specific action step that you can do in order to grow your business. How many action steps can you think of to help quicken the growth of your business? Select them, and then get to work on them!

  1.  Keep a Positive Mental Attitude

The road to success is not easy. In fact, it is down right challenging! This is why so few people succeed; they give up too early because they don’t believe that they can succeed. Many times it is because of the lack of a Positive Mental Attitude. There will be many times that you will stare into the eyes of defeat and failure. If you do not have a Positive Mental Attitude (PMA), you will succumb to negative thoughts, fear, and doubts of not only yourself, but of others as well. I talk about the importance of having a Positive Mental Attitude in several other posts throughout my blog.

In order to develop persistence and eventually succeed in your endeavor, it is critical to always maintain a positive mental attitude regardless of your situation. Keep your thoughts maintained on taking consistent action towards your goals. Avoid negative thoughts and feelings at all cost, because it will ruin your focus and persistence needed to achieve your goals

  1.  Build A Mastermind Group

A Mastermind Group consists of people who can help you succeed and achieve your goal. Many times they are people that share similar goals and dreams or they can even be your mentors. Be sure to choose this group of people carefully. If possible, include only those who can give you unbiased judgments and who also has a Positive Mental Attitude. You can’t afford to waste your time and energy listening to cynical advice and pessimistic people. These types of people will not help you succeed. Instead, they will drain your energy and confidence which will eventually lead to your failure.

  1.  Develop Discipline and Good Habits

All of your goal-setting and planning will go to waste if you don’t develop discipline and good habits.

There will be plenty of road blocks and challenges that will come your way to distract you from moving toward and achieving your goals. Without the proper discipline and habits in place to keep you focused, it will be easy for you to simply give up, or get so far off track that it will be hard for you to get back on the road to your success. Maintaining discipline and good habits can help you stay the course, even when difficulties arise!

Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment. – Jim Rohn

Persistence is a key success principle you must partake in to achieve your goals and dreams. Commit to use and learn these 6 ways to help you develop persistence and you will become unstoppable! I believe in you :)

What other ways can you add to this list that will help to develop persistence?

6 Stages of Winning

6 Stages of Winning

Winning in anything is not something that just happens, you must plan, work and focus on it. If you talk to any winning athlete, movie star, or business man, they will all have similar qualities and stages that they went through in order to achieve their respective successes. Let’s examine the 6 Stages of Winning that you must go through in order to achieve the success that you want in life.

1. Plan

If you don’t know where you want to go, you will never get there. It does nothing for you to show up to work everyday or go through a regular routine if you don’t know why you are doing it or what you ultimately want all of your hard work to accomplish. The fundamental building block that all successful people have is that they know what they want. Don’t be a rudderless ship being tossed and turned in the sea of life. Set your course and work towards arriving there!

2. Set Goals

When you know where you want to go or what you seek to accomplish, it is absolutely necessary to set goals. Goals are your mile markers towards your ultimate destination. If you wanted to get to California and you were driving from Florida, would you just get in your car and start driving? Of course not! You would map out your driving route and identify some goal markers along the way so that you know that you are on the right route to California. Yet, so many of us have a plan, but we never take the time to set proper goals along the way to help us get to where we want to be. There are basically three types of goals; short, medium, and long term goals. I have explained the specifics of each type of goal in a previous post: How to Effectively Set and Achieve Your Personal Goals that you can learn from and set your personal goals accordingly on your way to winning.

3. Work

I can hear the moans now! W-O-R-K, do I really have to work? Yes you do! To get anywhere in life that is worthwhile and continue winning, it will take effort and lots of hard work. When I am helping someone in my business, I let them know that it will take work in order for them to accomplish their goals and dreams, and I don’t apologize for that. To be better than average, it will require effort. Today, many people want something for nothing without having to put in any work. We have become a lottery ticket society where we want to spend a dollar and make a million. That simply will not happen. You must be willing to put in work when nobody is looking, when your name isn’t being called or recognized. It is the work behind the scenes that will help you reach your ultimate plan or goal in life. When you watch professional athletes make awesome plays, they have already made those same plays during practice! They worked hard so that during the game it is second nature for them to make the plays that we are amazed at when we are watching them on T.V. Although we all would love something for nothing, we must work our plan and plan our work; it is a part of winning!

4. Sacrifice

Another principle of winning is that you will have to sacrifice some things that you want to do now so that you can do it on your own terms and better later. For example, you may want to go on a family vacation, or build that beautiful home in the country. The question that you must ask yourself is, “Is it the right time to do it now?” If you are truly committed to achieving the plan that you have for your life, sacrificing is part of the process. You may miss birthdays, family reunions, put off having children, etc, but it is for a short period of time. I am not saying that you should alienate family or not have kids, but you must decide what are you willing to give up or put off in order to achieve your dream? When you sacrifice things, you are telling your mind and body that I am committed to achieving what I want and will not let anything get in my way! What are you willing to sacrifice to achieve your dreams?

5. Practice & Persistence

Winning teams first win on the practice field before they ever play in a game. Practicing is simply doing something over and over again and getting repetitions until you get it right. The famous coach Vince Lombardi, who coached the Green Bay Packers, is famous for continuously having his team run the Green Bay sweep over and over and over again until they perfected it. The players hated it, but when it was game time, they were able to run it flawlessly and won many games because of that single play. Do you practice your craft the way they did? Practice is not necessarily fun, and we don’t like to make mistakes, but that is how we will get better and become a winning individual! The other part of practice is being persistent and refusing to lose. We can not always control the results of our practice, but we can control whether or not we are persistent. Being persistent is simply not quitting, and getting up after we have stumbled and fallen. It is doing that thing you need to do (work) one more time even when you have continuously failed over and over. Keep persisting and you will master your craft. Too many people give up just about the time they were going to have a breakthrough. Don’t be that guy or lady! Keep at it with a good attitude and you will achieve the goals that you have set out to accomplish.

6. Focus

So far you have figured out what you want, set your goals to achieve it, decided that you are going to work at your goals, sacrifice things you want to do now so you can do them better later, practice your craft and not give up. The final stage to winning is to focus. With all of life’s distractions, it is very easy to veer of off the road and end up in a ditch. What will keep you on the road to winning is a focus on your dream. Focus is putting your thoughts, actions, attitude, and energy into that which you want to achieve. Another term for focus would be “in the zone.” Have you ever read a good book while sitting in a coffee shop where there were people laughing, talking loud and walking by? If you are enjoying the book, you have a focus and will not be distracted. You don’t even hear what others are talking about or notice the loud laughter coming from the group at the other table. You are completely tuned into the great book that you are reading. That is the type of focus that you must have if you want to win at your plan.

Study and commit yourself to these 6 Stages of Winning. Being a winner is not easy and it will take some work and effort. If you truly want to win in life, I encourage you to engage yourself in these 6 steps and it will be well worth it. You owe it to yourself to become a winner!

Extraordinary Life

6 Steps To Live an Extraordinary Life

Are you looking to live an extraordinary life? Most people want to live a life of significance and happiness in a world that celebrates average and mediocrity. Today, we live in a culture where people will criticize you for having a dream and a desire to get more out of life. Living a life of significance and happiness will make lazy, non-motivated people jealous because you want or are doing something that matters instead of doing nothing and blending in with everyone else. Are you ready to take the next step in your life and start living an extraordinary one?

Here are 6 Steps to live the extraordinary life that you want:

1. Vision: Everything starts with vision! You must see beyond where you currently are in order to live the extraordinary life that you want. It is important to know where you want to go so that you can begin to work and apply daily habits to help you move towards that goal. Those that do not have vision of where they want to go will never get there! It is like being on a rudderless ship, you will be tossed around by the waves, never really going anywhere. Take the time and develop a vision for your life.

2. Have a plan: A plan is essential for you to be able to achieve your vision. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. If are struggling to develop a plan, see if you can find someone to help you or mentor you. There are tons of resources out there, think outside the box!

3. Risk: To live an extraordinary life, risk is always involved. People may try to steal your dreams, even if they are well meaning. You have to take a leap of faith at times and just follow your heart in order to accomplish your vision and goals. Don’t let others talk you out of becoming extraordinary!

4. Discipline/Schedule: Develop daily habits that will enable you to move forward towards your vision and goals and stick with them. This is not always easy because sometimes you may not feel like doing what you know that you should do. However, it is just as easy to do what you don’t want to do as it is to not take action at all. Be consistent with your daily actions and work your plan.

5. Passion: If you are going to live an extraordinary life, you need to have some passion about you. Your goals and vision should be a dominating thought. Tune out all of the white noise around you like the news, etc. If it will not help you get closer to your goals, do you really need it? Remember this: Garbage in – garbage out. What you put in your mind will come out, so be careful what you watch and listen to!

6. Have a definite purpose: Empower and raise other people up. Do something that will outlive you and enrich the lives of others. Live with no regrets and give it all you have!

You were created for greatness and you have what it takes to make an impact in the world! Living an extraordinary life is more than just trading hours for dollars and living your life inside of a bubble. Step outside of your bubble and make the world a better place to live with your vision; your extraordinary life.

Are you ready to start living out your extraordinary life? Do you want to make an impact and make a difference in your life and the lives of others? If so, click here and join the movement!

Stand out from the crowd

5 secrets to stand out and rise above the crowd!

If you are a young professional in Corporate America, or you are an aspiring Entrepreneur who is looking to make connections and build or join a business team, standing out form the crowd is important. What sets you apart from everyone else and how can you show it? Why would someone want you to join their company or business? Obviously there are a lot of factors that play into if a job or business is the right fit, such as personality, overall business/career goals, and mission of the company or business. Since I have had the privilege of mentoring many young, ambitious individuals on our business team for several years, I have outlined some qualities or traits that I look for in someone that will help you to raise your head above the crowd.

1. Take initiative: Ask questions, seek answers and mentorship. As much of a tech savy world we live in, you must be willing to go out and find the information. My mother always says that you don’t need to know everything, you just need to know where to find it! Be resourseful and you will stand out.

2. Have a PMA: A Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) is looking at things with a glass-half-full mentality. Let’s face it, things don’t always go our way, but it is how we respond that really determines whether or not we have a positive or negative attitude. I had a day not long ago that could have really sent me over the edge of negativity. In the morning I got a flat tire on the highway during rush hour traffic. After pulling over and taking out my spare tire, I realized that I did not have a jack in my trunk! 1 hour later the Road Ranger came and changed my tire. Later on that same day, I got ticketed for not wearing a seat belt as I pulled out of a parking lot. I had reached down to get something and was going to put it back on but it was too late! Ticket! That day I refused to let myself have a pity party; it was still going to be a great day and I made it so! It was all about my attitude. Do you have a PMA even when things don’t go well?

3. Have Goals: Know where you want to go and what you are willing to do to get there. Have you ever spoken to someone who had no goals? What a dull and boring conversation it is! Nobody wants to work with or hire a person who does not have any idea of what they want or where they want to go in life. Goals give you life! Goals give you the reason to get up and get out in the morning. You have to be willing to pay the price to achieve your goals. Success in anything does not come easy nor over night. Be willing to fight for your goals and dreams and do what it takes to achieve them- legally of course!

4. Be open to taking risks and keep an open mind: Don’t be so critical about everything that you miss opportunities and chances to excel. I have seen many individuals that I have shared my business with be so analytical and overly critical that they don’t even see the opportunity for what it is…an opportunity! No one will want to work with you if all you do is find the negative in everything and are not willing to take a risk or have an open mind. After all, part of success is taking a chance or risk in the first place. If you are not willing to change, then you will not be able to grow professionally or in business in order to achieve your goals.

5. Be a Go-Getter: Have a can-do attitude about everything, even if you don’t now how to do something or don’t have the experience. A prospective employer or business partner will want to know that you are willing to learn and/or overcome obstacles along the way. Don’t give excuses on why you can’t do something, figure it out, and if you can’t, ask for help. This is part of having a PMA.

These are some of the major qualities that will help you to stand out from the rest of your peers. As always, there are exceptions, but if you adopt these traits and thought processes, you will attract great people that will help you advance in your business or career.

I invite you to join our winning team and learn how you can make money!! Click here to request more information and let us know how you stand out from the crowd!

Success Principles…What are they anyway?

What makes some people successful while others seem to struggle to make ends meet? How is it that money seems to be attracted to some while other people seem like they have holes in their pockets? Many people think that successful people “get lucky”, that they were in the right place at the right time. That could not be further from the truth. The fact is, these “successful” people are utilizing success principles whether they consciously know it or not.

So how do you learn about these success principles and what are they anyway? Before I started my network marketing business, I did not know anything about success or business. I was taught to go to school, get good grades, and get a good job. I was essentially was taught to have someone else tell me what I was worth.

When I got started in business, I began to learn principles that were foreign to me and had never heard of from some very successful business mentors. In fact, some of the success principles that I learned were in exact opposition to what I had ever known. For example, delayed gratification. My attitude was if I want it, go get it! It was a way of thinking that I worked hard and deserved it. What I learned about delayed gratification is that I can still travel or buy what I wanted, but I just needed to wait for the right time so that I could get the very best and not settle for mediocrity. This is an example of wealth mentality. Wealth is simply a state of mind! Once you learn the key principles of success, all you have to do is implement them in whatever business or career that you are in. Success principles don’t change regardless of your business or profession. All that matters is that you use them in your life. They are laws, just like the law of gravity. You don’t have to believe in gravity or that it exists, but go ahead and jump off of the roof of your house and you will quickly realize that gravity does work and exist!

Are You Really Ready For Retirement?

Are you really ready for retirement? Unless you are a “Baby Boomer,” you probably have not given a whole lot of thought about your retirement. Most of us are just thinking about how we will pay our bills every month, let alone when and how much money we will have to retire.

Have you ever thought about how long that you will have to work in order to have enough money in your account to be able to walk away from Corporate America and actually live your life? The statistics can be quite daunting! I took a few minutes and did a quick calculation on Kiplinger.com (http://www.kiplinger.com) to see what someone my age would have to save. I just turned 36 years old and calculated that I would work until I am 65 along with my wife. To make the numbers easier, I had both my wife and myself making $60,000/yr. and did not add any 401k, etc. The result: We would need to save $2,745/month for 30 years!

Now I realize some of you make more or less per year, but what I want you to think about is, are you truly saving between 2-3k/month in your household? Keep in mind, this is to just maintain your current standard of living and nothing more.

I don’t know about you, but I surely do not want my wife and I to have to work until we are 65 years old. We both want to enjoy life to it’s fullest and not wait until we are too old to enjoy some of the things we want to do now. So do you have a game plan for your financial future? Does it make you cringe to think about how long you will have to work for someone else, give your very best, show up every day, and then barely be able to survive? Thankfully, my wife and I were presented with a business opportunity that would allow us to make some additional income every month in our spare time outside of our current commitments! We were shown a very simple marketing plan that would allow us to do what we already did and get paid to do it! On top of that, we also gained access to some very successful business men and women who were willing and able to mentor us. When we make money, they make money- a “win-win” situation!

Since we have taken advantage of the opportunity that was presented to us, retirement is literally right around the corner for us! We have also helped many other singles and couples get ahead of their retirement curve through our opportunity.

So what about you? Are you looking to get ahead financially? Do you have loved ones that are going to be counting on you in the future? Do you want to have the security knowing that you will be financial stable? Do you want to travel more? Pursue hobbies, etc.?

If you want some of these things and others, I can help you! In order for any opportunity to work, you must be willing to learn and be teachable, willing to delay some things so that you can have them in the future. This is not a sales pitch or an attempt to “convince” you to do anything. It is simply an offer to work with and help ambitious people who just want an opportunity to succeed.

I can provide you with some information on how we can work together and you can begin your path to financial success.

Ditch Digger or Multi-Millionaire…What’s the Difference?

“The difference between a ditch digger and a multi-millionaire is the way that they think.” That is what several of my mentors have taught me since I was 23 years old! They always say that success is an attitude, not a destination.

So what is your thought process? Do you have a thought process for your success? Changing your thought process for success is not easy but it is possible with the right effort and dedication. Most of our thought process has been directed to think mediocre and average. We get our thought processes from family, school, co-workers, bosses, and friends. If you are looking to step out of mediocrity and into success, it will take changing your thought process to make that happen.

How do you change your thought process? For starters, it helps to associate with other successful individuals so that you can learn what they know and understand what they think so you too can adapt their thought process. Another way to change your success thinking is to invest in yourself through books and audios where you can learn from multi-millionaires while you are driving your car to work, etc.

When you start thinking differently and your thinking is geared toward success, you will take action toward your goals and not waste time. For example, if you know that you need to make some calls or meet people to expand your business prospecting, you will want to take those actions instead of wasting time doing things that don’t matter and procrastinate. It is simply a matter of discipline; doing what you know you should do even if you don’t feel like doing it.

Are you ready to climb out of the ditch or rut of your day to day corporate life? Do you want to learn how you can actually make money from home and be able to pay your bills, travel, and have plenty of money and peace of mind? If this sounds like you, then click here to find out how you can begin to take charge of your life NOW!

To your great thought process!
