So you just got stated in a Network Marketing business or you have been thinking about starting one. Maybe you have been involved in Network Marketing for some time now and are considered a grizzled veteran! In either case, there are a lot of distractions that can lead you off of your success highway which is to make money! I am making the assumption that you got involved in a home business to make money and have the ability to live a better lifestyle for you and your family both in finances and time.

So what are the potential “distractions” to the Network Marketer who is looking to make money in their business? Aside from the obvious distractions of working a job, or associating with friends/family who do not support you, there are distractions that are well meaning, but will not necessarily take you to the place of time and money freedom in your business. Here is what I mean-

Network Marketing is a business with a learning curve, and when we all get started in business, we are encouraged to read and listen to audios to help us learn the business as well as change our thought process to become an entrepreneur. These are things that any successful Network Marketing business professional should do! However, I see a lot of Network Marketers spend the majority of their time reading books and listening to audios to grow themselves (which is good), but they do not spend time performing the “Money Making Activities.” 

You can listen to audios all day and be inspired, motivated, and learn the newest technique to do something, but your business will not grow. You will be a motivated person with a no business to speak of! You can also read every book on success and learn great people skills so that everyone likes you. If you only read books and don’t apply the “Money Making Activities,” you will be a well liked person with a small business!

There are 4 essential activities that you must do in order to have your business grow. In the following video, I describe what these important activities (Money Making Activities) are so that you can begin to implement them and have your business grow to where you want it to be in order to hit your goals!

4 Steps To A Better You

Do you want to become a better leader? Are you looking to build your business to new heights? In order to do that, it requires that you make some changes! After all, if you want things to change in your business, it requires that you make some changes too, you can’t remain the same and expect anything to change. These changes are not earth shattering, and they are not impossible. In fact, the changes that you have to make can be done by anyone.

In this video post, I share with you 4 Steps To A Better You. In reality, each of these steps could be an hour long video, but I wanted to give you the basic concepts of the 4 steps to allow you to determine which one(s) that you may need to focus on. Everybody has different strengths and weaknesses, so while watching and listening to this video, there may be some things that you have nailed and other things that you need to work on.

Don’t feel bad if there are things that you need to improve on because we are ALL a work in progress. I try to improve and learn more everyday regardless of how big my business gets. You are either growing or dying, and it is my hope that this video gives you some internal perspective to help you develop into a better leader, business person, husband, wife, mother, or father. While reading a book the other day, I came across a “nugget” that one of my mentors told me at a time where it seemed like no one was joining our business team. We were annoyed, frustrated, upset, and a host of other emotions ran through us. When our mentor shared the story of the Chinese Bamboo Tree, it put everything into perspective. 

Since it had such an impact on my wife and I, I wanted to share it with you. This is a good “nugget” to remember even if you are brand new in business and you have things rolling! Remember, there will be ups and downs. Here is the “nugget” about the Chinese Bamboo Tree:

Inspire People With Your Actions

If you want a long lasting and successful business, there is an important element that you must do for your business team. You must inspire people with your actions and do what you want your team to do! If you want your business team to sponsor more reps, then you sponsor more reps. If you want your business team to sell more products or make more money, then you sell more products and make more money! Do whatever it is that you are recommending or telling your team to do. Lead from the front!

You see, inspiring people is much different than simply motivating them. Motivation lasts for a few hours, days, or weeks. You go to your company’s live event or a leader comes into your town and does a great training or dream building session and you are motivated. That motivation, however, is short lived. After a few days, the motivation dwindles like an hour glass, slowly seeping away. Inspiration on the other hand, can be life lasting. Inspiring people is empowering and getting them to understand that they are capable of the success that they want. Inspiring people is helping them to see that if that couple can do it, then they can too!

Watch this video where I explain why it is important for you to inspire your team and others with your actions and not simply talking about it. Walt the talk and Inspire! (at minute 3:30 it gets pretty crazy!)

Do you see how important it is to lead from the front and do the very actions that you are asking members of your team to do? “The past doesn’t equal your future!” I had heard that saying many times before I finally really came to understand what it meant. When I did break it down in my mind, I came to realize just how important and powerful the phrase is! It is a statement and truth that many people either don’t understand, or they choose not to believe it. 

We all come from different backgrounds, were raised in different parts of the world, and have different cultures. The one thing that we do have in common is our very own story and baggage. When I coach other Network Marketers and business owners, I find that a large majority of them bring their “baggage” into business with them. This can severely hinder their success. There are 5 questions that you should ask ALL prospects when you are determining if they are someone that you would like to work with in your business. These questions should be asked for both on and offline leads. Asking the right questions will help help you not waste time on “tire kickers” or people that are just curious! If you want to make money in your Network Marketing or Home Business, you need to build it with other motivated and action oriented individuals like yourself. You are looking for people who want to take ownership of their biz!

In this short video, I share with you the 5 questions that you should ask every prospect. Specifically, I talking to those of you who are generating leads online. Here are the 5 questions, take some notes:

 
As I said before, these questions can be used on prospects that you generate both on and offline. The reason that these particular questions are so effective for online leads, is because unlike offline, you don’t really have the opportunity to size them up in person. You are going off of their profile or email that they sent to you. So you need to establish right away if the prospect that you are on the phone with is serious or somebody who will waste your time.

Use these questions and start getting better results sponsoring reps that are just as excited about building their business as you are yours!

How To Approach And Talk To Anyone

Approaching and talking to a complete stranger is very intimidating to most people. So what if you are in a business that requires you to talk to strangers about your opportunity? Then what? 

Have you ever been in this situation: You are at the local grocery store and you see the perfect couple or perfect prospect. They look sharp and like they have it all “together.” They would be the perfect person/couple for your business team! Your mind races as you try to come up with a way to get their attention and start a conversation without feeling corny or getting rejected. You stalk them up and down the isles of the store hoping that they will walk your way. They turn away from you and start to walk away to the next isle. Fear takes over and you say to yourself, “they looked like they were busy and I wouldn’t want to bother them.” As you leave the store, you feel like you just let another good prospect get away. The feeling of doubt and discouragement overwhelm you and you get in your car and drive home. “Tomorrow” is what you say. “I will meet another sharp couple tomorrow!”

Have you experienced a situation like that before? Can you relate to the feelings and disappointment? I have been there many times. Through experience, I have learned that when I’m in that situation, I just need to act!

Because I have been in this situation many times, I felt the need to make a short video on how to approach and talk to anyone because I know that many people struggle with this. 90% of approaching and talking to anyone is all in your mind! Let this video provide you some thought process on what to do to approach and talk to anyone, so the above scenario never happens to you again! So you got into business to make money right? We all did. So why am I saying that it is important for you to be a buyer when your goal is to sell as much product, business tools, training materials, etc to make money?

If you are willing to invest in yourself and your business, you can not only get the newest and most recent information on your craft, but you also set in motion the flow of people buying from you! I learned that financially successful people don’t just save their money, instead they act like a river flowing from the start to the end. They make money, spend money, and more money keeps coming in. Now I am not saying to just go on a spending spree! But what I am saying is that you need to “do” what it is that you want others to “do!”
